It strikes me as funny that very few people I have met of and got to know over the years actually trust their governments to do either anything right or to deal honestly with them. Infact it seems to me most people regard their governments with real suspicion. Do you or don't you feel the same and why?

  1. Sorry to be the guy who rains on your parade, but Obama is not going to make anything that much better.  He, as well as McInsane is bought and paid for and a CFR member.    Americans, of which I am one, are a very stupid people when it comes to voting.   We let pundits give us opinions and we choose according to whom THEY have told us is better at making us look like suckers.   I think people should start to vote outside of their party.   I also think single issue voters should be banned from voting.   If your only conern is abortion, or health care and nothing else.....get out!    Set term limits for EVERY branch of government to no more than 2.   Career politicians are the ones who are the most corrupt.   Power, comfort and a steady paycheck on tax payer dime and you become complacent and apathetic.   They vote with their best interest in mind not the people's.   If this does not work, the declaration of independence explicitly says we have the right to abolish a government and put in place one that will work for the good of the people.   I think the time is drawing near where voting will do no good.

  2. People never generally trust their a governments to an extent, most likely because people don't like their lives controlled by others. However counties where citizens have more power and government actions are more visible and can be challenged trust government more.

For instance her in the UK public pressure can force an individual to resign, and investigations into corruption can be easily carried out. Also government documents can be requested by the public due to freedom of information act.

  3. Trusting the govt is , at this point, foolish. Never have, never will. They are all corrupt and all liars and only looking out for themselves.

  4. Most government people are corrupt and be careful in dealing with them.

  5. Nope.  They are corrupt, they make decisions based on what they want and not want the people need, they take liberties such as helicopter rides or private planes to play golf at the cost of $20,000/hr.  TO PLAY GOLF.  Who do you think is paying for that?  Certainly not the golfers.  And let's not forget how Bush refused to count the over 7,000 military votes because the US Mail system was a bit slow.  Nope, I've no faith in my government.  Until Obama takes over - then things will begin to look up.
