  1. a) x+6

    b) x+x+(x+6)+(x+6)= 40

        2x+2(x+6)=40

        2x + 2x + 12 = 40

        4x + 12 = 40

        4x= 28

          x = 7

    c) length= 7 + 6 = 13

  2. Ok I am not the nerd type but I will try to help you out, its been 5 years since high school!

    a) (x+6)

    b)i) x+x+(x+6)+(x+6)=40

    40=4x+12

    28=4x

    x=7

    There you go

    ii)Length=7+6

    =13

  3. yes, the only subject i am good in is math, but you got the answers!!

  4. wa alaikum assalam sista;-)

    i loved mathss...still love it..

    let the width of rectangle = x

    then length = x + 6

    perimeter = 2( width + length) = 40

    substituing the values in the above equation:

    2[  (x)   +   (x+6)  ]  = 40

      2[2x+ 6]               =40

      4x + 12 = 40

      4x = 40 -12

       x=    28/4

       x = 7 cm

            width=x= 7cm         length=x+6 = 7+6 = 13cm

  5. a-x=6

    b-

    well anyway the equation is 4x=12=40

    so x= 7

    so the length is 13
