  1. I have always heard good things about the college.  Keep in mind that I work primarily on the East Coast of the US and only applies to the US with any degree of reliability.

Makeup & prosthetics is a good way to go if it is her interest.  In the US, there is always a demand for makeup artists for theme parks, theatre, and film.  Many makeup artists have side businesses as well doing more mundane activities like makeup for weddings, photo shoots, etc. Much of the work will be on a per-job or freelance basis.

At the school, she can meet people who she will continue to work with over her professional career.  I used to fly in a freelance makeup artist from New York that I worked with in the early 80s on gigs because I had worked with her for years and we have a comfort level and a work history so I didn't have to explain the "look" I wanted.

The present and future professionals she meets at the school are valuable.

Try the website listed below for the US makeup and hairsylist union for film in LA.  Local 706.

Good luck to her and to you.
