How much would that cost for one large room (26 feet x 15 feet) and is it very effective?

  1. Hi, I put in this system 3 years ago and it cost about 1500 then. It is really effective under tile flooring. I would wonder about putting carpet over the system though.


  2. I had it installed in my bathroom at around the cost of £400. However, I had not thought of the running costs. My first quarter electricity bill was £400.....I shall only be using it as and when I think. So do your homework before installing

  3. More usual to use a piped system for this kind of size. I have used it in a room of the size you say - but it was a kitchen so the amount of floor space by the time you deducted the cabinets was considerablly less. The downside is the response time - it can take a while to heat up. For this kind of project money wasn't really an issue, and neither were running costs. (If it was my own of course, it would give me the willies).

  4. Hi Julie.. I would not recommend electric underfloor heating for such a big area.. normaly it is used under tiles in a bathroom for instance.

    you could link underfloor pipes to your central heating which would be more cost effective in running costs
