Anyone here know how carnival cruise lines assign the seats for the dining arragement for dinner? Because everytime I go I notice I always get people seated around my age and I was wondering if they do it like that or something?

  1. Dining Information

Dining preferences such as dining time and traveling companions can be requested at the time of making the cruise reservations. Requests are not guaranteed and all are subject to availability. Table size, table number, dining time and dining room will be confirmed upon boarding the ship.

By popular request, all dining rooms are smoke-free.

We have implemented a system across the fleet called "Flexible Dining", which features two staggered seating times for dinner. Since this requires two main dining rooms on the ship, this option is not offered on the Spirit-class ships, which have the traditional two seating times for dinner.

    Dining Times

    Main Seating 6:00 PM

    Late Seating 8:15 PM

Note: Dining times are subject to change due to conflict of time with port stays or other scheduled activities. For breakfast and lunch, the main dining rooms are organized as "open seating", where you may come and go as you please during the set hours and are not obligated to sit at your assigned table. when you get ready to get on ship ask them to see if they can seat you with others around your age have a great cruise

  2. they seat you with people in your age group as close as they can. we just came back from ac ruise and were seated with a mother and her two daughter and a father and son. all the kids were about my age (20) and the adults were about my moms age.

  3. Hello,

I heard somewhere that they try to seat families with families and put people of similar age together, but it doesn't always work out that way.  I don't know if it's true!  The same thing that happens to you usually happens to me, and it has happened to friends of mine as well, so I think it is safe to say that it is planned that way, at least sometimes.

You can also request to be linked to another cabin at your booking.  This helps to ensure that you are seated with those people.

If you don't like where you are seated or your dinner time, talk to the maitre'd.  The maitre'd will usually be able to find you an alternative and give you a better cruise experience!  I have never had this happen to me but I know people who have and they were satisfied with the outcome.

    Hope this helps!

  4. the matre D (or however you spell it) assigns the seating arrangement the week before your cruise.  he tries to seat singles with singles, couples with couples and families with families all within the same age group.  one thing to keep in mind is if you request to be seated with someone else its a good chance you will be seated with only those people at a small table so if you like to meet people at dinner keep it to just 2 of you.
