  1. I do surf, baby! The most important thing you should always do is to NEVER EVER enter into the water alone. Always go surfing with at least a partner. Surfing is hazzardous, you are never sure what could happen to you on a given moment and there you are alone in the water far away from the shore (off shore). Please, don't do it!

  2. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE GOOD BALANCE AND GET BETTER AT SWIMMING

  3. learn how to swim in your town for now. Surfing is not like skiing or  snowboarding- it's take a lot of dedication and perseverence,

You would need to surf EVERY day for a year to just be considered ok.

  4. Steps:

    1. Improve your swimming skills so you are comfortable swimming in the open ocean.

    2. Practice your breath control. If you wipeout on a wave you might get held under, so make sure you can hold your breath for at least 30 seconds as a beginner.

    3. Take lessons. It's worth it. It will save you that first year of trying to figure things out for yourself (which is kind of the fun part though)

    4. Before you surf a particular spot know the info on it...currents, speed and sizes of waves, attitude at the surf break, hazards, etc.

    5. Learn and live surf ettiquite. Google it. Donet ever forget it.

    6. Have fun. Surfing is a great way to reconnect with yourself and nature. Go with an open mind, patience and love for the sport and you will be hooked forever, as I am.

  5. well, u gots to get a board first, then take the fin off and put it on a bunch of pillows or tennis balls, and practice standing up. then practice surfing
