  1. why dont you type each of teh words into dictionary.com or something like that...its much more reliable and easier!!

  2. Here are a couple of links to volleyball glossaries.  Unfortunately, they don't have the words you mention, but there appears to be contact information.

  3. BROAD JUMP -  a jump without an approach, so when your hitting, and you do not use a proper approach it's called a broad jump.

PIPE SET - or a 3 set, is a reall low set pushed out to the outside hitter. the hitter would need to take off right after the setter lets go of the ball

RED AND YELLOW CARD - yellow card is a warning to any player or coach to control themselves, then if your really out of control, yelling at the ref's using offensive language, ect you get a red card and are ejected from the game

TRANSITION - when the ball comes back over the net to your team, the transition is your setter going up to the net for the pass, and your hitters getting off the net and ready to make an approach

TRIPLE BLOCK - all three of the front row players go up to block the same hitter.

There ya go, I just asnwered the one's no one else had! Hope that helped

  4. Some of the other suggestions sounded quite reasonable, but....

auxiliary setter - backup person to set if the setter cannot get to the 2nd ball.

linesman - not the referee or a player (usually), but a person who stands on the outside edge of the court by the server to watch for servers going over the line or balls hit on the side lines

off hand side - not the "power hitter", this person is on the far right of the front row and can spike the ball if the setter sets a backwards set.

quick set - usually when the middle hitter comes in fast and practically hits the ball out of the setters hands

rally scoring - the team doesn't have to be serving to win the point; a missed serve counts as a point for the other team

red/yellow card - yellow card is a kind of warning to a player- I've rarely seen them given; red cards get a player (or coach) kicked out of the game

sideline - the line on the side (and back) of the court

touch - this means someone touched the ball on the way out or the ball hit the other team's hands as they tried to block

transition - going from one place to another (in general)

triple block - not frequently used, but all 3 players come together and the middle blocker lines up against the person on the other side trying to spike. they all jump at the same time and try to block the ball.

If I missed a few words, oops; try doing a google search for volleyball, explanations, terms.

That is basicly what they are

  6. I don't know all of em but I could tell u some: a setter sets the ball for the spiker 2 spike. Back row is the back 3 people and front row is the front 3 people. A line Judge tells if the ball is in or out off the black line to where the referee can't see. That's about all I know. Sorry this wasn't much help.

  7. dictionary.com

  8. no.

  9. Most of the other answers were right.  The person the answered about a "PIPE" set was wrong...

PIPE is usually used as a 10' set to the middle back position.
