I used to like them when they were the new guys to watch. They just released a CD, and the tracks I've heard sound formulaic - dark acoustic guitar droning as lyrics about how messed up life is - then raging rock guitars and scream/shout singing. They've become a self-mockery of their former selves.

I really liked their album Dysfunction and I saw them live a couple times (1999 and 2001), but I really haven't followed them much since then.

I like Dysfunction and Break The Cycle, but after that they just went too soft for me for my taste, too be honest I haven't heard anything off thier new album yet.

Shreder and Funeral make a good point Mike Mushok or whatever his name is can shred some really good riffs.

first two albums are great after that i cant stand aaron lewis' whiny singing style it got real old real fast.

I enjoy them. If you like Staind, then you probably would like Shinedown too. Have you heard of them?

Not Really, but they are a good band they are tight for what they do.

AND, I know the guitarst shreds behind the sense because I have seen that DVD of theirs and he is setting up his stuff on stage and a the lead singer for Static X is warming up and the terrible guitar play from Korn is on stage and the guiatrist of Stained is also warming up soing some shred I mean He isnt like KILLER SUPER SHRED but he wips out some fast picking on some scales so I know He Has Got Some Skills

YE I rate them as a band....and Aaron as a musician and lyricst!

As Shredder said their guitarist does go off sometimes!

Overall they are a ballad band so I guess when I'm in the right mood I like them a lot, other times they are just okay!
