Anyone here scared of planes?

I don't know why so many people are scared of flying in planes. It's a good experience and usually it's very safe. Yeah it can be quite scary when it starts to shake 35'000 feet up in the air but to be honest with you, it's nothing.

Maybe anyone here not been on a plane even?

  1. Nope, I`m a pilot and enjoy flying, especially flying myself. The view is much better than in a big airliner, just slower.

I enjoy flying in jetliners as well, but only when they are uncrowded and short flights. I don`t crave eating airline food like a praying mantis due to crowding. Plus my butt and legs go to sleep while on a long flight.

  2. I don't like flying.

  3. I get nervous landing in very wet and windy  weather only. I would like to learn to fly too.

  4. i love flying , already been to america from africa and back and now live in the UK, i am scared if i will hear that the plane has been ihjacked, whick has not happened, phew, but flying is good

  5. Travelling may not be suitable to some. Some are afraid of heights while others don't mind travelling at all.

    Hope this helps.

  6. I'm afraid

  7. Not at all . . . I done a Skydive from 12,000. ft to weeks ago and it was most amzing thing ever =) . . .try jumping out a plane then u will be over it .

  8. I am not afraid of flying it,s crashing that does my head in

  9. I am pretty scared as I don't feel in control. I'm going on holiday soon. Also the funny thing is I've been on holiday a lot on planes and it seems like as I get older I get more scared especially as didn'tnt go on holiday last year as I had studies to do which I'm not used to as I normally go once or twice a year! What am I going to go!!

  10. Susan Ann was once very scared of flying but we sent her to a Therapist and hypnosis and in a matter of 3 months she wasn't scared anymore.I would also suggest you take sleeping pills if you don't have time to go to a Therapist.Don't worry Honey flying is much safer than a Car,Bus,Train or Truck or even riding a cow.So don't worry!

  11. Yeah, I have to put down my fear and breathe deeply and all whenever I fly.

No amount of logic has ever helped me to overcome the fact that you're clumped up there in the air, 35,000 fit, in nothing but a flimsy little jet!  With 300 or so complete strangers, any one of whom might be crazy beyond belief, and could do any number of nutsoid things.  I always breathe a sigh of relief when we touch down!

If I smoked, I'd be chain smokin' up there!  (good thing I don't, cause it isn't legal in the air, anymore.

  12. My dad is the only one in our family who's a "wary flyer" - he's not too keen on turbulence. He says he feels like he's not in control of the plane (he also feels the same way about roller coasters), and from what I've read, it's not uncommon. It affects everyone differently, I guess.

I personally don't mind planes at all - I especially like those HUGE transcontinental jets!! They're so cool. :)
