Anyone here work at a hotel? if so what kind of discount do you get?

Just curious, if you work at a hotel, what kind of discount you get on rooms, i'm probably getting a job at a hilton, marriot, or hampton in in my town, just an eas temp job between now and the navy, so i'm curious what you get for workign there :D

Yes, I have been in the hotel industry for a long time.  If you work for a chain, such as a Hilton or Marriott, your discounts are limited to that particular chain, and are either comp or at a great discount.  Just keep in mind, you will have to work at that property for at least 90 days to a year to qualify, and only be able to take a vacation after a year, it they let you go, which depends on your seniority, position, and time of year.  If you are working a temporary or "on call" position, you will usually not qualify for any benefits at all. The best benefits in a hotel position (must work at least part time which equals 32  hours a week) are medical/dental insurance, life insurance, 401 K and such.  It is not worth it to work in this industry just for hotel discounts.  Your either cannot get the time off or they do not pay you enough to travel in the first place.  Since you are looking for a temp position, try to place yourself in a tipping category, such as bell/valet, waiter/waitress, or perhaps bartending.  Good luck in the Navy and thank you for defending our country.
