Anyone in Pony Club?

Question

I'm going to take C3 for pony in a few months and was wondering what its going to be like. Has anyone ridden in one? What was it like? Are there any tips you could give me?

i was in pony club, i made it to d3 and then it (for my area) got alittle to political... i did study up for it, but never took it, i know a few of my friends who did, they said it wasnt too hard for them. good luck and have fun. that's what pony club was spose to be about.

I'm in pony club. And I am currently a C2 and I am going to go for my C3 in a couple of weeks. My aunt is a graduate A and she has been helping me prepare. She is mostly preparing me for the flatwork and longeing sections. If you can ride dressage you can jump.

I took my C3 at least 20 years ago.  I don't remember too many details, but it wasn't that bad.  The B, HA and A were the scary ones!

Tips: make sure your turnout is perfect, that will start off with a good impression with the raters.  Also, make sure you have an answer for everything!  B.S. it a little if you have to and always explain your answers.  You can also sort of steer your answer in a different direction if you are a little weak on the original question (like if you don't know much about spider bandages, then you could say a few words about them, then expand on another type of bandage).  Never say "I don't know".  Never make it sound like you're making excuses.  I was a scribe for horse management this year at our regional show jumping rally, and when the HM judge would find something, it was amazing how many kids had some "reason" for their dirty horse or tack!

I have not taken it but a bunch of my friends have. My only suggestion is to take a horse that you know will not have any problem with anything they ask. One of my friends brought a horse that was an advanced greenie and it refused to do the gymnastics (it would do them at home though). She got to switch ride and do it but I can imagin it was a pretty big blow. She still passed, which was good. Good luck with it!
