  1. Get a lawyer, the first time I applied in Texas was for Bipolar 2 and was approved first try. Well I was working so didn't take it now have several diagnosis and have been trying to be approved again for 3 years

  2. My roommate gets disability for anxiety/panic attacks and post traumatic stress disorder.  Yes, it is difficult to get.  You will probably be turned down your first time.  You do have the right to appeal.  Which she did and got accepted the second time.

If you do get turned down, call your local US House of Representative Member and see if he can assist you as well.

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, and tried to get disability and was told that I had to be out of work for one year before they would even consider me.

Lastly, we live in Texas also.

  3. I am in NM.  It took me 2 years, but I finally am about to get it.  I had to see a judge.  I would reccomend getting an attourney.

  4. it does take a long time i still have about 1yr to go and i started in 2006 i am on disabled medicaid for it (not as hard to get) and you will need it while you wait also get some general assistance from the state if you're like me and can't work
