Anyone in childcare?

im looking to get into childcare. I need to do a course and i was wondering once i can start applying, what would be the best way to ask if my children can go to the same childcare place that i will be working?

Go ahead and ask at the beginning...I would even say ask during the application process...but if you are concerned that this may effect your chances of a job...wait until the end of your first interview.  Most child cares permit that staff's children attend and some often provide incentives in that area.  However, I recommend that you are not the teacher in your child's classroom.  Good  luck!

some daycare actually offer a discount if you work there, while others do not want the relationship to hinder you work.

I would ask when they offer you a job. Before accepting ask the benefits that they offer. Child care for your children i would think would be listed/classified under the benefits category. If they do not talk specifically about it, i would bring it up. " Do you accept my children at this center and is there a staff discount?"

I would ask straight away-if it is a 'must' that your children got with you then you need to let the setting know just incase they cant cater for them. Also you need to know incase you have to make alternative arrangements.

i think that thats a question to ask during your 1st or 2nd interview. i've worked in plenty of daycares [[in north carolina]] that DO allow teachers kids to go to the same daycare.

In my state, this in not unusual.  Discounted child care for staff is actually considered one of the benefits the facility offers it's employees.  By all means, ask.  The discounts vary - some facilities actually offer the child care for free, others will give discounts of varying sizes.
