I used to generally make about $20-60/hr playing these stakes, but only if I wasn't bored or fatigued. The style of play I generally used was a mixture of loose/aggressive tight/aggressive. I always start out with around $50 and maybe 2 out of 500 times will I ever have to reload. With this said, my other question is do you really go by the rule that your bankroll has to be 100 times your big blind?

  1. I NEVER risk more than 5-7.5% of my bankroll in one sitting...whether it be ring games or SNG's.  MTT's...even tighter.  If you're playing NLHE, then you want to buy in for the MAX, but still don't break your bankroll rules.  Tighter players can afford to risk more in one sitting, but no more than 10%.  In this case, it's all about discipline.

If you can recognize when you're going thru a bad run, then quit!  Or you can even set WINNING goals, where you quit when you reach a goal (and not have to worry about fatigue if you're up early).  The 5%/100x bb rule is really only a guideline.  If you personally have other figures that work well for you, then stick with them!  As long as you can keep your DISCIPLINE, then you can vary a little from these guidelines.  Just know your limits.
