These people from Mxenergy have been knocking on our doors all summer long, coming back even when we say we aren't interested. They say they are a gas/energy company and they want to lock in low rates and we won't have to switch energy companies. How is that possible? Has anyone done this? At this point I think they are full of c**p because the sales people are young and unprofessional and knock on every ones doors at least once every three weeks.

  1. I'm not sure if changing to them would save you any money (as I do not use them as my provider) but if you read a bit about them

mxenergy is a top provider (not the biggest) and started up after the deregulation of energy. they purchased shell (not the gas stations, but their sister company of energy services). Seems to be ok.

I would imagine that if you call your provider and ask what your current rate is per kilowatt (or whatever - not a scientist) and compare that to what mxenergy is offering, that would give you a good idea.

Other than that, tell the sales people to back off a bit. And it doesn't hurt to tell them the truth - that if they weren't quite as pushy and looked a little more professional, you'd be more inclined to purchase from them.

    Good Luck!

  2. I've never heard of them, but if they're bothering you, contact your local authorities.
