It IS Yahoo's domain, however, I think it can be a useful tool if it is properly moderated. (e.g. They can prevent people from using multiple I.D.'s)

Any thoughts people?

  1. What if we all quit them cold-turkey, Yahoo that is, and get another ISP that wants to keep its paying users.? Will they get the  (ahem)message then?

  2. i'm down with that!  let's roll!!!

  3. you got something against trolls?  just because you don't agree with what someone says?

  4. I would. But moderating the boards would be next to IMPOSSIBLE.

  5. i will sign petition.  i want my message board back.  i really really miss it.  it's the best thing on internet.

  6. YA probly found the message board to much of a problem

you still the answers and groups

  7. Those boards were a nice feature, but there was too much vile, disrespectful speech on there. People were just taking advantage of it to spew horrible filth, under the cloak of anonymity.

  8. Trolls made it fun that's kept it different from other sites I would be at work and crack up laughing at what some troll posted the day before  my coworkers would think I'm nuts or laughing at them

  9. The "discuss" option was a marvelous way to share/learn opinions "behind" the news story.

Of course, the boards were packed with vile characters seeking thrills, but they were very easy to skip and weed out.

Now I'm looking for another source for my daily intake of news items...

This blatant act of censorship of public opinion is yet another attack on the few "open communication" venues on the net...

It's a sad day for liberties...

Where to go to get "the other side of the story"?

Good luck to all - stuck with your 24/7 pre-digested news with no interaction...

and don't forget one of our last freedoms: voting... in its last throes:

  10. The ONLY reason I read Yahoo News is because we can discuss it. If we can't discuss it I will move on to another(one of thousands) news server that allows talk-back.

  11. I am shaking my petition in anger!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. I'm all for it: I'm hopelessly out of date on what Al Gore's invented lately: there must have been HUNDREDS of things, just in the last week!

And I haven't been able to shake anything in anger in days...   :(

  13. Yep, I miss the funny trolls, the hilarious profiles & pics, the Al Gore jokes, the "shaking my **&^^ in anger posts.  Some posters need to get past the 8th grade & grow up.  Either that - or post on some religious discussion board - there's millions of them.

  14. first off define a troll.  where will you draw the line?

yahoo pulled the boards to avoid lawsuits from this idiot lawyer who could not take criticism.  that was tantamount to censorship.

imagine what would happen to the politics and religeon sections of this site if everyone agreed.  preaching to the choir gets real old real fast.
