Question:

Anyone interested in sending Gordon Brown a message via a petition about the Lisbon Treaty?

Last Friday the people of Ireland voted to reject the Lisbon Treaty.

But politicians across Europe are refusing to accept the result. They arrogantly insist that the Treaty must go ahead anyway. Despite the no vote, the UK Government is planning to carry on regardless, and ratify the Treaty in the House of Lords on Wednesday.

This is part of an attempt to isolate and bully the people of Ireland.

Please take 30 seconds to send a message to Gordon Brown by signing the petition on the Downing Street website.

Tell Gordon to respect the verdict of the Irish people - and drop the Treaty.

Many thanks

  1. It will get my vote!

  2. Certainly worthwhile. Time the pols listened to the people.

  3. Will do, many thanks xx

  4. You don't ACTUALLY believe they pay any attention to those petitions, do you?

Over two million people signed one against road pricing. The office of the PM brightly said it was not valid as they couldn't verify that all personal details were correct. That's a petition done through a website set up by them and done according to their rules.

Sure, I'll still sign it, because the EU are just about to ignore their own rules to get this farce into force, but don't delude yourself that five million people signing it will be any better than no one but you and me signing it.

    They WILL ignore it.

  5. St Patricks Day will now have a whole new meaning for me after the NO NO NO vote.  However it seems to have fallen on deaf ears in this country and everyone should now rally round and make the feelings known hear, a start would be to sign the petition for number 10 not that Brown has got the sense to head the warning, if democracy is failing this country I fear the worst for our future. once again I urge all to go to the web site:-

  12. If he didn't get the message from when, i think it was about 250 000 people signed a petition against it earlier this year, and didn't get the message from ireland, i don't think there's much else we can do.

  13. maye we should send him a picture of brian our taoshiach when the Irish people biffed him for bringing it to vote in the first place in our country.

he was batterde and bruised by the people of Ireland.yep black eye and split lip suited him.

  14. Is there any point in saying no to this. This Govt will NOT listen to the points of view of the populace. You cannot even take a politician to court for failing to fulfil their manifesto promises, so, they are in effect, able to do EXACTLY as they please. A well known "politician" said on talk sport, that even if EVERY one of his constituents signed a petition asking for the Death Penalty to be brought back. He wouldn't even consider putting it to the House of Commons! Gordon Brown is of that ilk, he would completely ignore any such petition. Didn't you know, that when a politician, or, councillor, wins an election (usually on the backs of false promises) he is immediately touched by the hand of a "higher authority" whilst sleeping, and wakes up completely blessed with the CERTAIN knowledge, that he or she knows Exactly what is RIGHT for the rest of us. Brown doesn't even trust the people that put him into power,(we're all too thick!) with a Referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. Or maybe, just maybe, we'll have the Wisdom of the Irish!, and he's too scared to chance his arm on this one. I Congratulate the people of Ireland!.

  15. I signed

    over 17.000 and counting

Do you think broon will pay any atytention to it?
