  1. my haemoglobin was down and i had some iron tabs - it rose my B12 levels and my haemoglobin and it made me feel better and i had some injections too to raise the haemoglobin. Try having this brand called FAB Iron made in Australia, its really good talk to your health care professional before hand. If you want any advice on haemoglobin etc, please feel free to reply me.

    Adios my friend.

  2. no and don't take iron pills get it from your food ,its better and absorbs more quickly, raisins spinach malt-o-meal and you are less likely to get to much, which is easy for a man

  3. of course, but they do tend to cause people to become constipated, extra iron from food/drink is much better for you

dark green veggies, dark red meat especially

(spinach, green beans, liver, tinned sardines in tomatoes sauce, steak, eggs)

avoid alcohol and coffee, both which slow the absorption of iron in the blood stream

a lot of breakfast cereals are now fortified with extra iron...

  4. If you mean passing out on a daily basis being fun? No! I have a genetic glitch that makes me not absorb iron very well. After 30 years of feeling like a giddy iceskater doing super sonic spins, I have finally found a liquid iron that my body absorbs easily.

So, YES! I feel sooooo much better taking iron supplements.

Sorry RoyceW but not all of us can get it from our diet. Spinach does not metabolize in humans to get the iron out of it, sadly.

  5. I needed iron tablets a few years back.  There is no doubt I felt SOOOO much better.  I had to take them for about 18 months.  It takes a long time for tablets to work on their own.  I'm still not sure why I didn't get injections as well, but eventually I felt normal again.
