  1. Yes there is less crime on the streets, but it's still there. The people are in the main warm & friendly but not all feel that way, especially in areas where immigrants have taken over and the locals have lost their identity.

I left England to come here to Spain. I didn't come here because I disliked England or the UK. The UK has a lot going for it, the problem is, the population just can't see it. The quality of life is better in Spain but the standard of living is better in the UK. Most people believe they are worse off but that's because they can't manage their affairs properly and it then has to be someone elses fault and not their own, ie the government or the country.

  2. I moved from England to Spain just over a year ago and it does feel a lot more safer in Spain but there is still a lot of Crime. Within a few months of living in Madrid someone sprayed graffiti all over one side of my car and within a week of living in Valencia i had my car was broken into.

  3. You have an interesting and rather utopian view of Spain.  When you are living there, you might find there is much street crime, you just didn´t see it because you were on vacation.

Lots of various other things going on that you don't see while on vacation, too.

Much depends on where you are, too.

Hey, let me come there!  I don't mind where I live, but I wouldn't mind a vaca, there!

  4. England is a dump! I've been living in Spain for  years and would never go back to England. It's a real shame, because I remember how England used to be and now it's nothing like that anymore. Perhaps you'd call it reminiscing!

The thing is with Spain is that people still have those old-fashioned values and FAMILY is the most important thing. I don't deny that there's no street crime, and of course you have to watch out in certain areas. I'd even say that holidaymakers see the worst side. Those values are long-gone in England. People only care about themselves and their personal gain. They are obsessed with their rights. Whatever happened to obligations?

Spain will eventually go the same way as England, though, as it seems to be a consequence of this consumer-crazed world we have created.
