1. Where in the constitution does the government have the authority to ban private property from being ingested by adults?

  2. Historically, the Democratic Party typically supports social programs - social security, medicare, medicaid, WIC, and other health care related programs.

  3. As best as I can discover, no political party has taken smoking on as a campaign issue; anti-smoking efforts are primarily driven by special interest groups and organizations. (The main organizations are listed in this paper: http://www.capitalresearch.org/pubs/pdf/... )

  4. You won't find one who will claim to do any such thing. The "parties" are into getting health care for everyone who need it. Health Care in turn does educational programs to help people stop smoking.

Besides...the government has a vested interest in smoking...most of the cost of the product is collected in taxes. When politicians NEED to raise money...the invariably choose to target 'sin taxes." It's a cheap shot but they manage to get headlines every time for doing so. And, in local politics it doesn't matter as long as you can grab the headlines people are fooled into thinking they are doing something. Wouldn't it make better sense if they used the cigarette taxes to create programs to teach and help smokers to get off the vile weed instead? The issue is on the proverbial gerbil wheel. Isn't it enough they are not allowed to smoke where they want? Shouldn't they be free to choose their own miserable destiny? Why deny people their freedom to chose? How does it affect you personally?

Sounds like you have a high school project going on here...part of the tobacco tax money is designated to have kids under 18 do this type of research...the medical profession has stated that if they can keep kids off "stuff" till they reach 18 the odds are in their favor they'll never indulge in "stuff." That's the agenda and you are part of it now. I rest my case. good luck.
