Anyone know a book about.....?

Is there a fantasy book about how magic and it's users are banned and people are hunting any casters down and killing them or arresting them? But magic makes a full return during the book(s). Anyone know? thanks

Sounds like an Avatar: The Last Airbender episode. Sorry, I haven't a clue. But it does sound really familar, I think I read that. If it hits me, I'll edit.

sort of like Dusk by Tim Lebbon. Really good book, its about how magic was banned from the land of Noreela a long time ago, when the mages were expelled, and now they are returning and want to rule the land. Also, magic is coming back through one boy, and different factions are out to kill him and ensure magic never returns.
