  1. Check out this one: http://en.venere.com/hotels_milan/monume...

Also the Edy, Kennedy & Durante have good feedback in lots of the travel books.  Enjoy!

  2. I know one that's fairly shabby but ridiculously cheap and in a PERFECT location.  Hotel Nuova doesn't have a website, but you can click the link below to see my own photos of the place.  I stayed there in the summer of 2005 and paid EUR 30 per night for a private room with a shared bathroom.  It's a one-minute (max!) walk from the Duomo (which is the tourist center).

  3. Keep in mind that you will need to stay in the 5 stars hotel if you want to have not too shabby ambient. Even sometimes 4 stars hotel in Milan looks like 2 stars.

  4. I just stayed at Hostel Demo. (It's not a hostel, but a 2-star hotel) It's near Milano Centrale train station. It was safe, clean, quiet, double with ensuite bath/shower for 65 Euro including buffet breakfast, taxes, service. It has a bar with snacks but no restaurant. Internet available for 5 euro. I'd stay there again. It's at Via Tonale 14,  20125 Milano, IT

    buono vacanza!

  5. The Uno Hotel - We got a great room for $50/night online - close to the train station and it was gorgeous. And free breakfast! Have a great trip!

  6. Yeah, this one's pretty cool, in a neighborhood that's kinda like SoHo in NY:

It's close to the train station and downtown, plus it's fairly quiet.

  7. I take it his wife will be home?
