I am on a budget for a wedding, are there places where i can say, i need 50 bridemaids bouquets for 50 dollars or under, show me some samples of what you can do...etc, or is that just not really how florists work? PS is 50 dollars going to buy me like 2 flowers and a ribbon? I was looking to spend 100-150 on my bridal one

  1. i have one word for you: PUBLIX it's a grocery store in the SE US  ummmm you probably have something similar where you live you would be surprised how pretty their flowers are at grocery stores......i hope this helps

  2. I got married in MN in May and had my flowers done by a grocery store florist.  My bridal bouquet was $80 and my two bridesmaids' bouquets were $30 each.  Then of course there are the corsages for the grandmothers and mothers, and boutennaires for all the guys in the wedding so that adds up, but I don't think it's going to be hard to find bridesmaids' bouquets for $50 or under and a bridal bouquet from $100-150 shouldn't be hard either.  Grocery store/Wal-Mart florists are probably going to be cheaper than your local floral shop.

  3. I am not from MN but I have an idea for you.  See if anyone in your family or wedding party is relatively creative, or at least willing to learn how to put bouquets together.  Then, find a Sam's Club nearby and order flowers through them.  You'll be able to purchase them 25 to a pack for about $20 per pack.  Then, get your creative family member/friend to assemble the bouquets for you.  You'll want to make sure your family member or friend is reliable and won't flake out on you when it comes time to put everything together.

The best way to handle the flowers is to pick up the flowers about 48 to 36 hours before you need then.  When you bring them home cut the stems on an angle about a half an inch above the end (it dries out and this will help the flowers absorb water better) and put them in water with the packet of dried floral stuff that comes along with each packet you should have beautiful flowers for your wedding day.  You can assemble the bouquets the night before the wedding using floral tape and wire, but leave the stems long so that they can remain in water until the next morning.  Then, the morning of the wedding use a gardening clipper to snip all the stems to the same length and wrap with coordinating ribbon.

I know this isn't exactly what you had asked for, but I have done this for two of my friends' weddings and the flowers were beautiful and each of them spent under $200 for ALL of their bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, etc.

  4. I was MOH in my friend's wedding and she used Costco flowers and they were beautiful. They were unique, lasted and were cheap. I don't really know what is in the MN area, but I will definently use Costco when I get married. Good luck!

  5. I am having the same issue!  In MN even.

  6. you can buy then from Costco  - roses 2doz each for  under 20.00

variety of colors you may be able to order them from the florist there and purchase vases for another $20  - you can make this work if you plan it right - ( get friends to help put them together and someone to deliver them ) place in sugar water

Just a suggestion - most Florists are expensive and you will not get your dollars worth
