Coincidentally I'm heading down London Bridge myself tonight for some good beer with a friend. We shall be meeting at The Market Porter just by Borough Market (Stoney Street) which has a good selection of beers.

The Wheatsheaf is a good old-fashioned Youngs pub about 3 or 4 doors down.

Assuming you like the traditional orientated pubs, the best pub in the area is The Royal Oak in Tabard Street near Borough tube. It's a Harvey's pub with great beer and good conversations and no intrusive music.

If you like the intrusive music All Bar One type place then please ignore my suggestions - they won't be up your street.

Great beer at a pub called The Grapes (I think) at the end of St Thomas Street/corner of Borough High Street, opposite Borough Market and only a minute from the station.  Walk out the station and left down London Bridge Street and turn left at the bottom.

The Market Porter is a great pub. Certainly the best in the area. A good range of ales and has a nice interior and atmosphere. Haven’t tried the food but it has a reputation for quality and good value meals.

i recently discovered a great bar on borough high street called Roxy's.  On Sun-Tues they have feature film screenings on a massive screen with great sound, right in the back of the bar you can't see unless you walk all the way to the back...and it's free!  There are tables and candles and it's got a kind of burlesque feel to it.  The foods good and not too pricey.  Don't tell too many others coz there's always been free tables when i've been there!
