Anyone know a good way to track down history of a house?

I just found out that my late Gran's house is gone.. completely. And I was wondering what happened to it, and if there was anyway to look up what happens to a piece of property?

Go take a trip down to the county recorder's office and order copies of all of the documents associated with that address. It should give you clues to what happened to the home. You can also sometimes talk to city hall and they can tell you. Good luck!
