Anyone know a literary agent in LA who'll get thing's done???

i have written an incredible book about myself, a homeless man, and an angel, that was written up in the LA times twice about my adventure,,,,but i have had a real hard time with agents cause i have never written a book before....anyone know somone who'll take a chance ????? please.....it's good...i swear.......god bless.

  1. Sorry to sound harsh, but if you're getting critical acclaim & still can't publish, then maybe it's a personality issue--w/ you at the center. Are you one of these writers who won't let the professionals change or even suggest changes?  The "It's My Baby Syndrome" attitude.  Do you meet deadlines?

    Assuming it's because you're a novice, go to the library or buy the 2009 Guide to Literary Agents & read the articles before looking for another agent.  Also, it doesn't matter if you're in LA & the agent in NY.  There's fax, e-mail, overnight express mail, phone, etc. to keep in contact.

    Also look for the 2009 Writer's Market.  It lists all the publishers.  Again, read the articles first.

    Oh, & relax. This is a time consuming process.  You don't want to sound desperate.  #1 Rule:  Don't bug the literary agent to death!  You'll be contacted in due time.  Be sure to follow the advice in the books about query letters & book proposals.
