Anyone know about charging a laptop?

i charge my battery till it gets to 100% how long can i keep it on charge for?

Modern laptops batteries are very smart. You cannot overcharge them. You cannot overdischarge them. Leave the charger connected whenever possible for convenience, so you will have maximum charge whenever you need it. But you do not have to worry about memory or overcharging on modern batteries.

Keep it connected while the computer is in use,but disconnect when the computer is switched off. Assuming that it is 100% at the time.

When its up to 100% then that means is charged up, just keep it plugged in until you switch it off and unplug it then.

If your at home using your laptop then best to take off the battery out and plug the charger in, if your travelling with your laptop then best to take the appropriate things with you and that includes the charger and put it in the laptop bag when your travelling and put back the battery back into the laptop.

you cant overcharge them so if you can your best keeping it plugged in. it should just use power from mains to power it when its fully charged.should be light on front which lets you know if its charging or using mains (mine flashes if its charging and there's a little cord symbol next to battery indicator on screen if its using mains) i only get about 2 hours use from mine its using battery only.

After 100% the battery isn't charged further, instead the laptop uses the power supply instead of the battery.

Well not exactly, the laptop uses the battery but the power supply recharges it almost immediately.

So the answer is as long as you want, (some laptop batterys may have what is known as the "memory effect" and could shorten battery life, very unlikely though with modern batteries)
