Anyone know about passive theft deterrent and content theft deterrent?

I have a 2009 Pontiac Vibe. My owner's manual talks about having the passive theft deterrent and immobilizer and talks about the security light flashing. The dealer told me my car doesn't have the system. Why does it talk about security light flashing when the system is armed if I don't have the system? I know I don't have the content theft deterrent system (but that's different... it was an option).

  1.    They only print one owners manual per model. That would be a big waste of money if they printed a specific manual for each model vibe. Obviously they are going to list all the options in the book. If your car doesn't have the option why would you read about it.

  2. simply put if you have key-less entry (factory installed) with the panic button you have theft deterrent. If someone gets a copy of your key or breaks in and tries to hotwire the car then the engine will be disable because the key has to be programed to the car and without that(hotwire) the theft deterrent shuts the asd relay off and the engine will not start.
