Anyone know about the planes/pilots that write in the sky?

Saw a plane today in the sky writing words. My daughter and I wonder how much it costs to have this done....they usually appear for special occasions to promote things.

  1. There aren't many left.  The only one that did was Suzanne Ashbury-Oliver, who used be the Pepsi skywriter.  I don't know if she still does this, but she is still on the airshow circuit.

    A lot of it depends on where you are.  We still have some around here in the metro detroit area but it seems to be a dying art.. the best thing you could do is to contact your local EAA chapter and inquire with those folks.  They should know who in your area does that sort of work.

  3. Depends on the area, and amount of time.

    I had one do it when I proposed (many years ago) and it ran about $250.

    Contact a local airport, talk to one of the flight instructors and ask them.  They will have a better idea of costs in your area, and may even know someone that could do it for you.
