  1. Zebras are wild animals and are very highly strung.  I'm still wondering how they trained that zebra in "Racing Stripes", the movie that came out a couple of years ago.

  2. They have not been able to earn their stripes.

  3. Zebra's are incredibly nervous creatures.  A few have been broken in to be ridden, but not many.  Ultimately they are a wild animal, whereas horses have been domesticated.

  4. If horses and zebras were to be run against each other, horses would win, because popular breeds of horses--such as Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds--have been bred for speed by humans, while zebras in the wild just mate with whatever partner is available.

  5. Zebras are fairly unpredictable and can be quite aggressive.  While domestication of zebras has been done, they don't usually do well domesticated.  (It is not unlike the fact that people don't tend to keep bobcats as pets.)  Even then, zebras lack a true wither so it is hard to keep a standard saddle on their back.  Hope that helps!
