i know she was or is american. any thing you can tell will be interesting.

She produced lots of stuff for Hallmark Cards, and died in 1984.  There is a good bit about her if you google, Betsey Clark, artist.  A brief history of her life is on The Betsey Zone (the first two entries on Google).
