  1. There's a bar in my area that does Saketinis which to my knowledge is like a vodka or gin martini with sake rather than vermouth served with a slice of cucumber.  Sounds good and I've heard decent reviews of the drink but I have yet to have one personally.

    Sake is not rice wine.

    Sake is not rice beer.

    Sake is sake.

  2. If you're looking to have a little fun with sake I would try a Sake Bomb.

Place shot The sake bomb or sake bomber is a drink made by pouring sake into a shot glass and dropping it into a glass of beer. Sometimes two chopsticks are placed parallel on top of the glass of beer, and the shot glass is balanced carefully between them. The drinker then chants "sake...sake...sake...BOMB!" (or alternately, counting to three in Japanese: "ichi...ni...san...SAKE BOMB!"), slamming the table with two balled fists, and the sake drops into the beer.  It is to be drunk immediately, and works best with warm sake.

An alternative chant requiring a leader:

Leader: "When I say sake, you say bomb! SAKE!"

    Everyone: "BOMB!"

    Leader: "SAKE!"

    Everyone: "BOMB!"

    Leader: "SAKE!"

Everyone: "BOMB! (while slamming the table)"

  3. Sake is simply, wine, made from rice instead of fruits like grapes. Anything which will mix with any conventional fruit wine will mix as well with Sake. When I was in the Navy, I spent months in Japan, and it was considered bad form to mix anything with Sake. But, if you do insist on a mixer, try any lemon-lime soda or ginger ale. The sweet added by the soda will cut the sour, bitter edge of the rice wine. Sake, like scotch, is an acquired taste...

  4. We do pomegranite sake martinis along with many other tropical fruit mixers all the time including Mojito's.  Sake is easily substituted for vodka rum or gin in nearly any recipe, but goes best with fruit juice mixers.

I work for a five star restaurant owned by one of the celebrity chefs known in the world.

  5. sake is manufactured specifically for shots, just like you dont mix beer with anything, you drink it straight.

the only thing i know tabasco can go in are Bloody Marys

  6. Sake? try it with 7-Up or Sprite. You might even try it in regular or pink lemonade.

But if you're not going to drink it hot, like they serve it in Japanese restaurants, try it 'on the rocks.' You'll be surprised how good it is, cold like that. You could also add a twist or squeeze of lemon to the iced Sake.

Tabasco? Bloody Marys, Virgin Marys and in Oyster Shooters.

  7. mix with Kivi or Plum Syrup or  pure juice , Wow  ! best tests ,  Oshi Des nei ! ( must try )
