e.g. the proportion of people who believed that climate change / global warming was occurring, was man-made, was a serious problem, etc? Especially any polls that have been asked consistently over a few years to track how opinion has changed on this topic

There is a paper on European public perceptions from which you can extract the UK position. It starts with polls prior to 2000 right up to more recent ones.
