Anyone know any major disadvantages of Distance learning?

I intend to soon join an online college but was wondering if there are any disadvantages to distance learning classes I should be aware of before I join.

It's much different than attending a ground campus. I went to University of Phoenix Online and it worked very well for me. The classes were compressed into five weeks, so it was pretty intensive. We could only take one or two classes at a time. If we got behind, it was very hard to catch up.

I was able to make internet friends with some people, but not like I would have if I'd been attending ground classes.

i considered distance education at one point, and the major issue is finding one with the right credibility and accreditation. there are too many online courses out there, and many online colleges are not that well regarded. look up the ratings thoroughly and make sure it's as good as they claim.

i would strongly recommend, if you have that option, that you give preference to distance education programs offered by a regular college, rather than a completely distance edu college. many reputed institutions offer distance edu on some courses and programs, so you have the benefit of getting it from a reputed place, which makes a lot of difference.
