  1. Some good mystery books I've read are Premonitions and Disappearance by Jude Watson.

Also, my sister loves all books by Norah McClintock. She has 3 different series' of mystery books: Robyn Hunter Mysteries, Chloe & Levesque series, and the Mike & Riel series.

Look up any of these books and you should like them. They're age appropriate too.

  2. The Hardy Boys

  3. The Westing Game... it might be too young but you could judge it based on your class.

  4. If you would like to read some classic mysteries, I'd highly recommend Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. My favorite is The Hound of the Baskervilles, but I've read all of them and enjoyed them. Some are novels (like Hound) but others have a collection of short stories about Holmes and the mysteries he solved - like The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. I began reading these stories around the 8th grade.

Another author whose mysteries I would highly recommend is Agatha Christie. You may enjoy And Then There Were None, The Mousetrap, Murder on the Orient Express, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Death on the Nile, The ABC Murders, The Moving Finger, Sleeping Murder, The Tuesday Club Murders, A Pocketful of Rye and others. She wrote some great mysteries.

If you enjoy romantic suspense novels written in the first person, I would recommend Phyllis A. Whitney (The Ebony Swan, The Trembling Hills, The Moonflower, Window on the Square and many others), Mary Stewart (Touch Not the Cat, The Ivy Tree, Nine Coaches Waiting, The Gabriel Hounds and many others) or Victoria Holt (hers are historical romantic suspense like The King of the Castle, Menfreya in the Morning, Kirkland Revels, Lord of the Far Island and many others). They were all quite good (though I didn't like one of Victoria Holt's last called The Black Opal).

If you don't mind mysteries set in the Middle Ages, Ellis Peters wrote some very interesting Brother Cadfael stories. A Morbid Taste for Bones is the first.

If you enjoy classic mystery with Gothic elements, you may enjoy The Moonstone or The Woman in White, both by Wilkie Collins.

The Hardy Boys is a classic series of young adult mysteries. The Nancy Drew mysteries is like them. They are a lot of fun.

I'm not sure if you are interested in the more classic type of mystery, but hopefully this will help. Happy reading!
