Anyone know anything about Brightmoor?

Used to know people that hung around there... Heard bad things, endless drugs & drug houses, rape, poverty for some examples. Just wondering if anyone lives around there or knows anything?

I lived there for a short while like 30 years ago. It was pretty red neck and poor then. I know it got a lot worse since then, but I haven't been around there for a long time now. The cheap, small frames houses encouraged a lot of renter and unemployed to live their. So yes, it's not a nice area. It wasn't dangerous back then but I guess that has changed.

I think it is still the same activity because the people around there don't want to better themselves, the environment or the neighborhood.  I think it is a list of Detroit neighborhoods that is on the initiative for revival, but the citizens of the area have to accept it and manage it daily.

I have lived in Brightmoor for about 10 yrs, in 2 different areas.  I just moved into one of the newly built homes in this area.  But, I did stay on a street where there were fires almost every night.  However, they are trying to rebuild the whole Brightmoor area.  The street I stay on now is very quiet and peaceful.
