My husband has a LMS-525c DF Made by Lowrance, We do fishing on th coast and we went to turn it on the other day and it didn't turn on, our battery worked but we though maybe it was not charged enough to run the GPS, So we bought a new battery and nothing.....we just bought the GPS but can't find the warranty papers, so we have to buy another one if we can't figure this out.....any suggestions on why this might be happening?

  1. maybe the store where you bought it will change it out for a new one

  2. you could try going back to the store and have them pull up a copy of the receipt (if not too much time has lapsed between the actual purchase date and the store's policy for keeping records). also, if it was done by credit card, use the transaction number, might work.

  3. You can try calling Lowrance's customer support and see if they will exchange the unit for you, just out of goodwill.  You never know.  I've heard about people getting brand new handheld GPS receivers from other manufacturers even though their units were out of warranty.  You might luck out, but you won't know unless you ask Lowrance.
