My mother is looking for an original Raggedy Ann like I had when I was little but shes having some trouble remembering every detail and I was wondering if you could help. She dosent remember the apron having her name on it, the shirt was dark blue, her hair was looped, and she had the heart on her on her chest.

Ive looked EVERYWHERE online and I cant find anything with this description. I need help finding anything close to the dolls that were sold in the 80s please.

  1. Raggedy Ann and Andy have been made since 1918 by Volland as an entertainment for a very sick child, the earliest made are very valuable 2 to 3,000 each. then the were also made by Mollye's, Exposition, Georgene, Knickerbocker, Applause, Hasbro, Alexander and Playskool .

She may be Knickerbocker read below:

The L.L. Knickerbocker Company was founded in New York city in 1925 by Leo L. Weiss, they are probably best known for their  Walt Disney character dolls and  Raggedy Ann &  Andy and the cloth  Holly Hobbie  dolls.  Dolls are of good quality, made of cloth, composition and vinyl.  Knickerbocker was sold to Hasbro in 1983.  The name was changed to L.L. Knickerbocker which was purchased by Marie (Osmond) &  now ex-spouse Brian Blosil in 2002, who changed the name to Marian, LLC. and in 2004 changed that name to Charisma Dolls. - which continues to create and sell dolls today.

This is a great reference for older dolls

There are some good books on these dolls that give you some real tips on how to tell by the buttons for eyes and where the heart is.  Hope this helps
