Anyone know anything about The Hexham Heads (please read the additional details below)?

I know the story so there's no need for anyone to look it up on the web and copy and paste it as an answer. What I want to know is if anyone has any personal knowledge about them?

No personal knowledge, but I have read the tale in various 'woo-woo world of mysterious thingies' type books! I also recall a more sceptical account in which a local 'fessed up to having made them himself.
