Question:

Anyone know anything about camcorders?

I have an old Sony CCD-TRV11 Camcorder.

But I'm not sure how to upload the video onto my computer.

It's the kind where you record a video on a cassette.

I couldn't find any USB ports. Do you need those coloured wires?

I can't even find slots to plug in any wire except for headphones.

I'm not sure if you have to convert cassettes into a DVD.

I can't even find the appropriate wire!

Help?

It would mean a lot!

Thank-you!

Sarah

  1. well some main ports in the camcorder are hidden like you need to open a flap to get the plugins and u only need the colored wires to show ur vid on tv and u may have a usb not in use  u can use that\

    hopefully i helped

  2. yea i do, what do you want to know

  3. you might be able to buy something, go to an electronic store, and ask a worker

  4. You can't put the images from this camera onto a computer until you convert them onto a DVD. You probably can't do this unless your television is equipped with a DVR... unless you have special equipment that I don't even have, lol.... Find the AV ports on the camera. They should be located on the front of the camera. Look at the lense opening, to the left of that there is a piece of plastic that comes off. under there (yay!) there is an S-Video port and one that looks like a head phone port, but is actually a three-ended AV port. Your camera should have come with one of these cables. Voilla! :) email me at sarahkell@windstream.net if you need any additional instructions.

  5. no idea.

  6. read the instructions....duh

  7. The Sony CCD-TRV11 is a Video8 format tape based camcorder introduced around 1996. This is an analog camcorder. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video8

Here is a link to your camcorder's manual:

    http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-d...

You need to connect the AV port with the yellow (video), red (right audio), white (left audio) - the same port you would use to connect the camcorder directly to your TV for playback - to an "analog/digital bridge". Then the A/D bridge connects to your computer using Firewire or USB...

    or

    http://canopus.com/products/videoconvers...

Then you can import the video using Windows MovieMaker or Apple iMovie... Edit... save the file than use WinDVD or iDVD to burn a DVD of the edited project (presuming your computer has a DVD burner).

  8. wow i havent heard the term camcorder in quite awhile. i know pending on how old the video camera is, it makes a big dif in what u can do with it.

if its 90's old it will probably be like trying to put Windows XP on a computer from 1995....its just not feasible...but again define "old" cause the older it is the less likey u can upload anything on a computer...remember things that were made 8 years ago werent meant for things u see today.....

and for a fee, u can go to special places and have them convert cassettes into discs...im not sure where though but i know its very possible.

  9. GIVE ME MY FACE BACK! YOU TOOK IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Well I took an beginner's video film production class and we had to use those dv tapes and the way we moved footage from the tape to the camera was through a thing call a dock. The dock was connected to the computer and the footage would get put onto the hard drive like that. I think that there is a cord  called a firewire that can take the place of the dock though, you could go to radio shack. best buy or pc richard's to talk to an expert.

  11. not me sorry

  12. Go to your local Best Buy or I personally think Circuit City is very helpful and ask them about your camcorder and what you would need, I would suggest a thing called firewire it's also called ilink because USB's cannot put videos onto computers, I'm not sure if yours would have an ilink port though, Yes I would say go check with Circuit City

  13. I have a Sharp that has your setup. I say try Radio Shack, or a computer store were they might have a conversion hookup wire that would work.
