  5. The best ferry is with Brittany Ferries from Plymouth to Santander. The Portsmouth to Bilbao is a much longer journey. If the weather in the Bay of Biscay isn't good then the shorter journey to Santander will be better and it's cheaper.

    I've done the ferry to Santander.
