I have a severely reversed cervical curve, I know what that is and means, but whats the rest of this stuff? anterior weight bearing? thats part of the neck thing, it says its causing my headaches and other stuff. then it says "lower lumbar degenerative changes" whats that? then "thoracolumbar multiple subluxations" what is that??? and then finally it says, "spinal joint hypomobilities and loss of ranges of motion of the cervicothoracic and lumbosacral region along all planes of movement." I'm so confused. help me please.

  1. Ouch!  I used to have a straightened cervical spine and I was in almost constant pain.  So you have it just a bit worse with the curvature being reversed.

Anterior Weight Bearing - means that the weight of the head is carried on the front of the spinal column, not centered over the whole spine.  For every degree forward, the percentage of the weight of the skull is shifted, this will cause more and more pain, headaches, migraines, etc.  Hopefully, chiropractic manipulation should fix this, but it will take time.

Lower lumbar degenerative changes - means the lower back, the small curve of the spine right below your belt line is crumbling, probably from some type of arthritis.  This will cause compression or squishing of the discs, which causes pressure on your nerves.  You are probably experiencing low back pain upon sitting long periods of time, or walking long periods of time, along with shooting leg pain called sciatica.  Chiro can't fix this, but it may help relieve pain.

Thoracolumbar multiple subluxations - means the spine between your shoulderblades is slightly twisted in a sideways direction, sometimes alternating the opposites of the twist.  This will put slight pressure on your spinal nerves and muscles of the back.  This should be correctable right now.  Chiropractic manipulations should fix this.

Spinal joint hypomobilities - means the spinal column, made up of your vertebra is easily moveable.  Not necessary good, but not too bad, either.  This probably means that you won't be able to hold a manipulation for too long.  Strengthen your back muscles and this should help.

Loss of range of motion of the cerviothoracic (head, neck and upper shoulder area)  and lumbaosacral (lower back and tailbone) region along all planes of movement - means you can't move too well without pain.
