I've recently gotten into Dennou Coil (short, hard to find, but good), although some of my faves would be Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, Ouran High School Host Club (shojo), Samurai 7 (very short), and Neon Genesis Evangelion (VERY good).

Well this isn't really like those but, Watch Hare Nochi Guu. It's really undiscovered but I guarantee it'll be one of the funniest, randomest, anime you'll ever watch. Good action series? Black Cat is one.
