Does anyone know some good homemade baby food recipes? I'm trying to see if I can avoid dealing with store-bought baby food. I want to try to keep it as fresh as possible for my baby.

  1. I just puree or mash up what ever I cook. It saves so much time and money, plus you will know right from the beginning what they will like and what they will not eat. When you puree try not to make it too watery, more texture is better.

  2. I have recipes in my cooking group. Free to join and no obligations

  3. Giving your baby fresh food is one of the healthiest/best things you can do as a parent of a small child. Make sure you give a varied diet too so it'll help your child to not be a fussy eater. Buy Annabel Karmel baby and toddler meal planner. Its amazing. If you dont want to buy it new look on Ebay. Its the best baby cookbook out there and gives ideas from weaning (first foods) right to meal ideas to share with baby and the whole family. You wont be dissapointed. You could also yahoo/google annabell Karmel recipes and im sure you'll find a few to get you started. Good luck and happy weaning.

  4. My mom used to take whatever the rest of the family was eating, and puree it in the blender (I had twin baby brothers). It was inexpensive and convenient, and they loved it.

  5. There are lots of good recipes on this site:

My daughter's fav's so far are sweet potato, apple, pear, carrot, potato & baked beans.  Not too keen yet on brocoli, peaches, peas.  She also loves bananas and cheese or yoghurt but I'm not really supposed to give her those yet so it's just a nibble!  Anway for the purees you basically core and peel anything with a skin, cut into pieces, put in a pot with enoug hwater to cover & boil.  Save the water to mix the purees or even for juice drinks so they get the nutrients.  Sweet potato I now bake - wrap in foil after stabbing with a fork a few times, stick in the oven at around 400/200 for 40 mins - 1 hr - done.  Just scoop it out with a spoon once done, it doesn't even really need pureed.  I can fill a ice cube tray with 2 small sweet potatoes.  I also bought a hand held blender for about £15 and I'm loving it!
