i need help with a child support/ visitation/ custody case. my son is 9 years old in which his father has been in and out of his life for the last 9 years. i have looked everywhere for help and came back empty handed. my ex has a lawyer but i can't afford one.

You can try searching with www.martindale.com.  You should also check out any Mass. law schools - many law schools have clinics that can help you out.  Also, most areas have a Legal Aid office - check your local phone book for listings.
