Will Fedex keep you and put you on something bigger as a FO when you get enough Turbine PIC in there Caravans?

  1. I live in Memphis by their main hub. They are more stiff than the airlines. My friend who is also a cfi just got hired on with pinnacle with only 350+ hours, a CRJ course, and his ATP written. So I would go for that to build hours.

  2. Fedex doesn't fly the Caravan. All those C-208s in Fedex colors are contracted out. You'll be an employee of the contract company, not Fedex.

Still you can build turbine time that way. It'll all be PIC too.

  3. probably around 3,000 hours for FedEx. they aren't Hiring pilots though as they pay some of the best numbers in the industry.....same with UPS so getting in as a Transport pilot is difficult. you don't have to deal with Angry Neurotic passengers and you get paid a h**l of a lot more :D who doesnt want that. if you got hired on you would probably be hired on as a 757 pilot or similar anyways. their 208 fleet is pretty small

  4. FedEx doesn't directly operate the Caravans you see with with the FedEx logos on them...  They are operated by independent contract airlines.

Two of the major FedEx contract airlines that fly the Cessna Caravans in the USA are Mountain Air Cargo, with offices in North Carolina, and Empire Airlines, with offices in Northern Idaho.  You can find these airline companies on the Internet, and get hiring info from their web sites.
