Anyone know how to clean beer tap lines?

I have a keg-orator and emptied a keg, and want to clean the lines. I don't want to have to buy a kit or DVD or hire someone, anyone out there know how to "do it yourself"

Thanks,

Lynn

  1. Make sure you drain the line after use, empty all the beer from the lines.

Flush the lines and beer tap with water ((only water,no household cleaners to sanitizes it)) and leave the lines empty afterwards.

The tap is now ready to be used again at a later time

  2. Go to your local homebrew supply  and get a bag of one step sanitizer  put 2 teaspoons in the keg with two gallons of cold water and mix then put 20 psi  of co2 on the keg and shake vigorosly for 30 seconds then atatch tap line and spray out the liquid  . All clean ,no rinse necesary

  3. Nope, it's a special chemical you need, due to the fact beer will flow through it again after. Non-specialist chemicals can cause poisoning or ruin the beer. The solution is bought through whichever bewery you are buying your kegs from. It comes in a keg, and you just feed it through as you would beer. Hope this helps.

  4. LLC (Liquid Line Cleaner) works really well.

There's also a cleaning brush that's long and thin for scrubbing the lines out from the inside.
