Anyone know how to clear messages for you on a phone?

I have a nortel phone at work that does not have voicemail and yet it says "messages for you". Any idea of the feature number or way to clear the message or check the supposed message?

Ask the help desk or whoever is in charge of the phones at your company. Or just put some black tape over the message light.
