It doesn't really look like a substitution cipher. It looks like its either a symmetric key cipher or a asymmetric key cipher. In either case you need a key. A key can be a word or a phrase, but since I don't know where this cipher came from I can't help you there.

I can tell you that the first line becomes when travelling always take a towel, they are immensely useful. and scifi, you spelled traveling wrong :D may want to change that btw :D That part as a keyword cipher, the keyword being tuvwxyz, the only letters NOT in the cipher. hope this helps a bit.
