  1. I had a similar problem... Time to set a fogger.  i cleaned and cleaned, poured veggie oil down the drain, set earth friendly gnat traps of vinegar and dish soap... caught a few, minimized the breeding but they continued to linger.

Get the raid fogger 4 cans for about $6 at just about any grocer or walmart.  Let the chemicals do there thing takes about 4 hours.. I set them before I went to work, came home.  NO MORE FLIES OR GNATS.

  2. flytape

  3. i have the same problem and vinegar seemed to help

  4. Pour some apple cider vinegar into a glass or bowl (fill it about 1/2 way) then add water and some dish soap. The vinegar will attract them, because they will think it is food. Once they get inside, they are trapped and drown because the dish soap changes the surface tension of the liquid.

Also flush your drains. Pour 1/4 cup baking soda into the drains. Follow it with 1 cup vinegar. Let it sit 10 minutes or so and flush with hot water.

  5. ivory dish soap in a bowl with water and vinegar

  6. Open the windows and they will fly out. The breeze will push em out too.

  7. What you need to do is get a jar or bottle and put a small piece of fruit in it. then cover the top tightly with plastic wrap, secure it with a rubber band or tape, then poke a small hole in the top where they can crawl in.  For some reason they crawl in and never figure out how to crawl out.

Just empty it every day or two, and start anew, till they are all gone.  If you go to the farmers market regularly, then just keep a prepared jar around and make it part of your routine.

    good luck!

  8. I had this problem a few years ago.  We were infested. We couldn't even eat in our house or even store food in the pantry. I was told by an exterminator to try to find the source of the flies.  I originally thought it was the drain in the kitchen sink, so I was told to pour some baking soda down the drain first then pour white vinegar.  It foams up and cleans the pipes.  After doing this a few times during the week, it didn't get better.  I cleaned out my pantry and low and behold, I found a bag of potatos that got buried under a bunch of stuff.  Once I got rid of them, and continued doing the sink treatment, they disappeared.  Make sure you check all areas where there may be fruit or veggies.  Even a small amount somewhere is a great breeding spot for them.  If I didn't find those potatos, we would never have gotten rid of them.

    Good Luck
